Our Story

A story of family, vineyards, and passion in the heart of Abruzzo.

Scroll

In the authentic landscape of Abruzzo, where the Adriatic Sea meets the Apennine mountains, the story of Cantine De Luca begins: a story made of land, labor, and vision.

For generations, the family has cultivated the vine with care and dedication, where each harvest reflects a deep connection between experience, place and time.

The Origins

The family’s roots lie in the agricultural traditions of Abruzzo and date back to the late 1960s, when Remo and Nunziato De Luca, together with their wives Dina and Grazia, planted the first two hectares of vineyard in Mozzagrogna, in the area of Castel di Sette.

Long before the winery existed as it does today, work in the fields followed the natural rhythm of the seasons. It was a way of life shaped by simple gestures, experience and knowledge passed down over time.

Viticulture was not just an activity, but an integral part of everyday life — a culture that continues to define the identity of the family.

Growth

Over time, Luciano and Remo De Luca, together with their wives Rita and Piera, carried this legacy forward, giving new direction to the family’s work and shaping it into a structured and forward-looking winery.

Growth came with a clear vision: to produce wines that remain true to their origin, enhancing the character of the grapes while respecting the identity of each vineyard.

Abruzzo, Between Sea and Mountains

The surrounding landscape plays a defining role in the character of the wines.

Abruzzo is one of Italy’s most distinctive wine regions, where the Adriatic Sea meets the Gran Sasso and Majella mountains, creating a unique balance of influences.

This natural interplay supports the development of the vines and contributes to wines that are both expressive and deeply connected to their origin.

Tradition and Vision

While evolving over time, the winery has remained true to its identity.

Today, traditional knowledge is supported by modern techniques and a quality-driven approach, allowing each harvest to be interpreted with greater precision while preserving the authenticity of the grapes.

The balance between experience and innovation continues to guide the work, both in the vineyard and in the winery.

The New Generation

A new generation is now gradually joining the winery.

Luca, Simone, Federico and Veronica bring fresh perspectives and skills shaped by their studies and professional experiences, contributing to the ongoing development of the family project.

Their presence represents continuity and evolution, a natural step toward the future.

Cantine De Luca Today

Today, Cantine De Luca continues its journey with a clear sense of identity, rooted in respect for the land, the value of family and a constant focus on quality.

Each bottle is the result of this path, a reflection of the vineyard, of time and of the people behind it.

A story that continues, harvest after harvest.
